Ouse Valley Viaduct

I'm pleased you enjoyed my viaduct ramble and thank you for your comments and questions.  The viaduct is the Ouse Valley viaduct and is on the train route from London to Brighton and Eastbourne.  it was built and opened in 1841.  It is also a pokestop. Well, it would be wouldn't it, being a landmark.

Here is more information on this fabulous piece of architecture .https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouse_Valley_Viaduct

  2. Wow, I see that I have travelled over it many times as my parents were living in Worthing prior to my coming to New Zealand and I was working in London.

Also it is less than 30 minutes from Lingfield, where I grew up but I had never heard of it.

    Thanks for sharing.

  3. Thanks for the link... what beautiful architecture! I was thinking a viaduct carried water... but it looks like this is a railroad "bridge". Fascinating!
