Gin

It's been a while.  I've been under a carpet of gloom over the ref...ref.. I don't want to talk about it.

I'm going away soon on vacation.  I may well post from there but pictures may be a problem.  Last time I blogged and loaded pictures it caused Hastings Battleaxe to ask if I was on the gin.  The uploads did very terrible things to my blog.  I admit I may well be on the cocktails and will be able to use that as my excuse.

Talking of gin, I tried a lovely little number on Sunday.  I had been given a bottle of gin with a jumper that I bought. Stop.  Stop now. Close that front door. Do not go rushing out to buy jumpers in the hope you will get a litre of free gin.  This was a sample size. The sort you get on a plane.

However this gin was very lovely with a tonic.  It was called Bloom and had a crown stamp.  What more can I say!

  1. Even a sample sized gin would tempt me to buy another jumper.
Sigh on the unspeakable R word. It is our election which is causing the doom clouds to settle here. And the result may be weeks away.

    1. Yep. You can always donate the jumper to charity and keep the sample gin.

  4. I'm trying hard to see the connection between jumpers and gin. I misread it at first and thought it said juniper.

  5. Have abandoned gin for the moment. Am on medicinal doses of prosecco with Campari and a dash of soda water to make it look respectable. Plus three cocktail cherries and a packet of crisps. Referendum? Chilcott? What are they?

    1. I've discovered Aperol. It's a similar mix to how you have your campari.

  7. I got stinko drunk on gin once in my younger days. Just regular gin, you understand. Not lemon gin. We called lemon gin "panties remover." I was smart enough not to drink that.

    1. Never heard of lemon gin and will be making sure Mr Him doesn't discover it.

  8. Nice elegant drink, Gin. Better than that clumsy Vodka.

Hope you're feeling a bit better now, and that you're having a nice time away
